Xiaomi is again set to rule the budget segment with its newest launch. The device is none other than the Android Go smartphone from Xiaomi – Redmi Go. This is one of the first phones from Xiaomi to come with Android Go edition which is specially designed for entry level phones with entry level specifications. Android go is kind of a lite version of Android to provide smooth performance on devices with lower or entry level specifications.
The device comes with a 12.7cm, i.e, a 5 inch HD display (1280 x 720 p). It comes with a 8MP f/2.0 rear camera with flash and a 5MP f/2.2 front camera. The phone supports video recording upto 1080p.
The device is launched with an incredible 3000mAH battery with 5W charging support. Xiaomi claims a full day battery life for this device. The operating system is Android 8.0 – Oreo (Android Go version).
Under the hood the device sports Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 clocked @ 1.4 GHz bundled with Adreno 308 GPU. On the design and build front the phone comes with a glass front and polycarbonate back.
The phone is launched with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of inbuilt storage. It is a dual (nano) sim phone with a seperate Micro-SD card slot which can be used to expand storage upto 128GB. It also provides unlimited storage for Google Photos.
Redmi Go supports 20+ regional languages and Google Assistant in Hindi, English and Hinglish. The device is priced in India at ₹ 4,499/-. It will go on sale through Flipkart and Mi.com starting March 22, 2019. It will be available in 2 colours : Black and Blue.
